Skates & Blades
To choose the right skate, you need to consider your skill level, age, weight, and how often you train. Here are our general recommendations:
For beginners (children’s skating school, basic figure skating):
- Jackson Excel or Mystique
- Wifa Prima Hobby
- Risport Venus
For intermediate skaters (who have passed basic tests and train 2–4 times a week):
- Jackson Evo Fusion or Elle Fusion
- Edea Overture with a Mirage blade
- Wifa Prima Intermediate
- Risport Electra Light
For advanced skaters, contact us for personalized advice.
There is no brand that is “best” for everyone. The most important thing is to find the shoe that fits your particular foot best. Different brands have different fits:
- Jackson: Narrower at the heel and wider across the toes
- Edea: The standard C width is wide at the heel and narrow across the toes
- Wifa: Available in many different widths
- Risport: Similar heel width to Edea C, but wider across the toe base
We are always happy to advise you on the right shoe and blade based on your specific foot shape and skating level.
To measure your foot correctly:
1. Stand on a sheet of paper wearing the socks you use when skating
2. Trace your foot and measure the length from the heel to the longest toe
3. Measure the width at the widest part of your foot
4. Measure around the base of your toes (the widest part of your foot)
Send us these measurements along with information about your age, weight, current skates, and skating level for a personalized recommendation.
